Camping made comfortable. Family- and dog-friendly, showers on site, accessible to washer/dryer. Wendy and John know Ferndale and Humboldt County, its beauty and its history, and are happy to share tips for exploring the area (as well as their beautiful 80 acres of forest and meadows).

Bring your binoculars, the variety of bird life is abundant (download Cornell University’s Merlin app and get IDs on the bird songs as you sit in front of your tent and breathe in the fresh clean air). Whether you’re a seasoned camper or just have the urge to spend a few days in nature, you’ll know this land is your land, even before you arrive.

Experience nature up close without losing the comforts of home at Wuss Camp, where wild deer, racoons, bobcats, chipmunks, foxes, rabbits and hundreds of varieties of birds come and go as they please and dogs and kids romp with our sociable resident Queensland Heeler, Louie. Hike through our woods and forage for wild mushrooms. Take a long walk to beach and back—where you might spot whales but not many people. Sit around your campfire every night. Yes, it’s the Pacific Northwest. It’s cool enough for a fire every night of the year (but we fully adhere to Cal Fire regulations and may be subject to no-fire zone on short notice). Wood? No problem, it’s free.
